Each Vertex piston undergoes a meticulous T-5 hardening and tempering cycle, a heat treatment process that significantly boosts its strength and structural integrity. Crafted from a gravity cast aluminum alloy with an impressive 18% silicone content, this piston achieves an extremely light yet incredibly robust construction, superior to standard forged alternatives for specific applications. To further enhance longevity and facilitate a quicker break-in period, the piston skirt is coated with a high-tech Molybdenum Disulphite (Moly) coating, drastically reducing friction and wear against the cylinder wall.
