Description

This crankcase is specifically designed for engines with cylinder bores of 4.000", and the cam chest is strategically moved outward by 0.250" to accommodate larger cylinder bore sizes. It's clearanced for strokes up to 5.000", providing flexibility for engine builders. The relocated cam chest oil pick-up significantly enhances gear case scavenging, virtually eliminating oil carry-over, even at sustained high speeds. It's machined to accept the stock oil filter assembly used on '92-'99 Big Twins, simplifying installation. The ported breather passageway and machined breather window optimize airflow from the flywheel cavity to the cam chest, reducing restriction. Crankcase venting can be achieved through two crankcase breathers or the cylinder heads. For engines larger than 95", S&S recommends using both crankcase breathers. With a deck height of 5.875", this crankcase is ready to enhance your engine build. Machined to allow the installation of a crank position sensor, making it suitable for EFI applications, S&S IST Ignition, and VFI Fuel Injection. If a crank position sensor isn't needed, a plug kit is included. Manufactured after June 1, '08, these crankcases feature a flat case mating surface, aligned with alignment dowels for enhanced precision. Made in the USA.
