The heart of this high-performance S&s Cycle 496 Cam Chest Kit lies in its precision-machined billet aluminum oil pump and cam plate. This robust construction ensures exceptional durability and consistent performance. Designed with independent scavenge sections for both the flywheel cavity and cam chest, the system significantly increases oil flow capacity on both feed and scavenge sides, ensuring critical engine components are always adequately lubricated. Debris screens in both scavenge pickups, along with a strategically placed magnet in the cam chest, prevent harmful particles from entering the oil pump, extending engine life. The adjustable pressure relief valve allows fine-tuning even after installation.

Complementing the advanced oiling system are the included Quickee pushrods, known for their easy installation and reliable operation. The tappets feature fast pump-up and deliver superior high RPM performance, effectively reducing valvetrain noise from startup to shutdown thanks to their close tolerances. Hard anodized black tappet cuffs further enhance stability, particularly in high-lift and high-RPM situations, ensuring precise valve actuation.
