Description

The S&S Cycle Cam Chest Kit for Gear Drive M8 engines is engineered to optimize oil flow and valvetrain dynamics. The kit features a high-performance oil pump and cam plate, precision machined from billet aluminum, with removable passage plugs for easy servicing. An independent scavenge section efficiently evacuates oil from the flywheel cavity and cam chest, while debris screens and a magnet prevent contaminants from entering the oil pump. The oil pump delivers a 44% flow increase on the supply side and a 58% flow increase on the scavenge side, ensuring optimal lubrication and cooling. The pressure relief valve is adjustable even after installation. Included are Quikee pushrods and S&S Precision Tappets, hand-assembled to exacting tolerances, to minimize valvetrain noise and maintain low leak-down rates for superior high-RPM performance. The billet aluminum tappet cuffs, finished with a hard-anodized black coating, offer increased strength and stability compared to stock components, especially in high-lift and high-RPM applications.
