The Progressive Suspension 412 Series shocks are specifically designed for Harley-Davidson models, providing a significant improvement in suspension performance. These shocks are measured center-of-eyelet to center-of-eyelet for accurate fitment. For '86-'15 XL models, minor modifications to the chain/belt guard may be necessary. Changing to a slightly longer or shorter shock can affect the steering characteristics of the motorcycle.

Important to know
Heavy-duty applications are recommended for bikes operated near the manufacturer's maximum load rating over 50% of the time. Before installing shocks with a different length than OEM, ensure adequate wheel travel to prevent clearance issues, such as swingarm/axle to exhaust contact or chain/belt guard or tire contact. When installing shocks on '86-'15 XL models, modifying or spacing the chain/belt guard might be necessary.
